    "Unique's heads, Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne, were previously executives at New Line - a studio famous for the David Fincher-directed Seven, which has often been used as an example to judge Heavy Rain's cinematics and narrative."

    Reason #43 film studios cannot relate to videogames: Two men that don't play videogames just bought one to remake as a film, despite the fact it was already a twenty-hour film in the format it was released in, which means the players of the game, whether they loved it or hated it, will not be the core audience opening night. Behaviorally, Heavy Rain's experience is meant to be immersive yet the plot has only one terminus, the discovery of the killer. Its innovations are impossible to translate to strictly linear storytelling yet they are the reason it is distinguished from typical film serial killer narratives. Save your money, Unique.

    from $44 new, $8 used at 95 stores

    comment streams about a Heavy Rain DLC (Downloadable Content) chapter that cost new users $5.

    “All I know is that I’m already seeing a good deal of pre-owned copies in my local games outlets.”

    My copy is among those.

    I got this using my pre-order code and this is something no one should pay for. It took me five minutes to beat and there's only five endingss, most of which I can guess what happens. Pretty much it takes place before the main story and it revolves around Madisson investigating an origami killer suspect.

    i won't take that advice seeing how HR can be "played" on youtube and the main crux of the story makes a twist so awful with plot holes and cardboard characters with a superfluous sex scene only described as "ken and barbie" stiffness.

    I see a great deal of used copies of Mass Effect 2 as well. It probably means, like Heavy Rain, there were a lot sold and therefore a lot returned. Hardly a benchmark for quality. Single player games…

    I'm actually very excited for the DLC, because the shit that Heavy Rain doesn't do well (tell a sprawling, novelistic story; have red herrings that mean something to the narrative beyond simply faking the player out; etc. etc.) isn't really an issue in a short-form narrative. Think about it: HR does scenes very well indeed. It's when all those interesting and fun scenes have to add up to something that it crumbles to dust.

    Granted, there's also that awful voice acting and dialogue, but that bothers me much less if I only have to play one or two scenes.

    L4D2 had a whole row in the pre-owned section at my local gamestop a week after it was released

    “I see a great deal of used copies of Mass Effect 2 as well.”
    Careful, they will get angry and call you a pbot for that comment.

    FF13 has been sold out until this weekend on the PS3.
    I didn’t notice if the 360 ones sold out.

    I fall asleep playing FF13 after playing GoW3 lol

    “I fall asleep playing FF13 after playing GoW3 lol”

    I recommend more GOW 3.

    People are getting rid of this god awful game.

    here are my thoughts about the all the different weapon/abilities in GoW3
    -Blades of Exile: Awesome as always, the roll is a must. its magic rocks
    -Claw of Hades: useless for the most part, its magic was a waste of green orbs. its dodge move was kind of slow
    -Nemean Cestus: awesome metal gloves that can kill most enemies with a single hit or send them with a blow from is punch, Magic was good enough to kill huge beats. its dodge move was short and not as effective as the roll
    -Nemesis Whip: one of the best weaping created in a GoW game, this whip-claw charged with electricity can handle a massive amount of enemies with no problem, its magic rocks to build combos. its dodge move was the same as the metal gloves.

    -Bow of Apollo: great to take down enemies from the distance
    -Head of Helios: great for dark places and to stun enemies
    -Boots of Hermes: Useless imo

    Wow if you have 20 bucks you can buy 20 PSP games on Amazon the only thing is that shipping is usually no matter what $3.99 or a bit more. The day i got MLB 06 The Show used like new.

    I’ll be buying this DLC day one.

    btw speaking of Amazon, they are having gold box deals on PS3 games all day. They also have Dantee for $38 all day.

    * 9AM: Batman: Arkham Asylumm: $29.99
    * 12PM: “This storied fighting franchise returns for another bout” (Guess: Tekken? Street Fighter? Fight Night? Tough to say.)
    * 4PM: “You might have played this RPG on your 360″ (Guess: Star Ocean)
    * 7PM: “Help Lego Dr. Jones through your favorite cinematic moments” (Guess: Lego Indiana Jones 1 or 2)
    * 9PM: “Wave around your PS3″ (Guess: Maybe Nyko’s Blue Wave Remote? Either way, waving around your system doesn’t sound like a very safe thing to do. Now, moving it, on the other hand … )
    * 10PM: “Don’t ‘tapout’ on this great MMA deal” (Guess: UFC 2009 Undisputed)

    I just looked at EB and they have one used HR and 3 used ME2. No FF13 for PS3 and I didn’t notice any FF13 for the 360.

    “Xbox 360 awesome deals. After seem this fucking deals i gotta buy more Xbox 360.”

    You are one true moron. It reminds me of the gay Staples commercial where the idiot keeps yelling Wow that’s a low price then throws it in his basket because it’s cheap. Only he is to stupid to know Staples is one of the most expensive places to shop.

    “-Blades of Exile: Awesome as always, the roll is a must. its magic rocks”
    I agree but I used them less this game then in the first two.

    “-Claw of Hades: useless for the most part, its magic was a waste of green orbs. its dodge move was kind of slow”
    I found them very handy for the guys that drop into the floor. It pulls them out and lets you smash the crap out of them.
    I did use them more then the Blades.

    “-Nemean Cestus: awesome metal gloves that can kill most enemies with a single hit or send them with a blow from is punch, Magic was good enough to kill huge beats. its dodge move was short and not as effective as the roll”
    I used them most of the time after I got them. I just loved smashing the enemies. I found it a pain to open chests with them on.

    “-Nemesis Whip: one of the best weaping created in a GoW game, this whip-claw charged with electricity can handle a massive amount of enemies with no problem, its magic rocks to build combos. its dodge move was the same as the metal gloves.”
    These were ok but I didn’t use them much and you get them very late in the game.

    “-Bow of Apollo: great to take down enemies from the distance”
    Agreed. Useless other then for distance. That is why I didn’t get the trophies for it yet.

    “-Head of Helios: great for dark places and to stun enemies”
    Again only good for finding things and stunning the sirens.

    “-Boots of Hermes: Useless imo”
    Except fighting the spider. LMAO ;)

    Barnabe Jones:
    I’m also getting this Heavy Rain DLC soon

    I gotta buy GTA IV for PS3 i only have the Xbox 360 version.

    Roca.:
    You have never play UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves online wow. I’m shocked.

    @Ivan
    yes I have, I was getting owned though because my team mates sucked! message me today after 5, I have been wanting to play some Uncharted 2 online lately.

    Roca.:
    Kool i will.

    I got a decent fill out of it during the MP beta. It wasn’t until recently that I played U2 online again.

    what mode were you playing CarlB?
    I used to play alot of Suvival mode, but once those Juggernauts started showing up it was all over.

    the ‘capture the flag’ type of game was alot of fun.
    Im going to get the new DLCs today, they like $3.00 each (not bad)

    I mean to say:
    what mode are you what mode were you playing *Phranc*

    Playstation hires another social media “specialist”
    tgdaily.com/games-and-entertainment-brief/49012-playstation-hires-another-social-media-specialist

    “Sony’s Playstation team now has three full-time employees devoted exclusively to the official Playstation blog and Twitter account.

    Unlike Xbox’s main blog run almost exclusively by “Major Nelson”, the Playstation Blog is turning into a full-blown editorial operation. The latest recruit is Sid Shuman, whose previous work experience includes 11 years at Gamepro magazine.”

    Oh that is Hilarious. Wow are you guys such Fanboys that you check what the competition has in the used games section of the store. Wow!! I couldn’t even tell you what’s in the PS3 used section because I never look. I didn’t know you guys loved the 360 that much. Just buy one already and stop looking through the window. LOL

    On second thought, I guess I can understand since PS3 games hardy make it to the top 10. LOL

    @CAD
    its too hard to ignore a whole wall full of used and scratched 360 games….specially since the have a whole row dedicated to L4D and Mass Effect

    its too hard to ignore a whole wall full of used and scratched 360 games….specially since the have a whole row dedicated to L4D and Mass Effect

    LOL exactly.

    Roca goes to show how stupid you are. All game stores check out disk before they take the trade in. But I why should I expect an idiot to know this. We all know your a Liar.

    @Cad
    Yes because roca actually checked them all. It was sarcasm, it was only probable that the games are scratched to shit since xbox once in a great while kills the disc.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsg0dm2cQNs

    Oh uh…… Stop it with those crazy facts Roma. You may make his head explode.

    @CAD

    You mentioned your place was burglarized and your 360 was stolen right?

    @phranc
    I think Con was robbed.

    @Roma

    Both of them said they were.

    Roma,
    thanks for the the explanation…my point is that most 360 used 360 games are scratched, it can be a small scratch or scratched to shit…but it is nonetheless “sctrached”……while PS3 games don’t get scratched so easily

    Odd that you say that as my PS3 was leaving marks on some of my discs movies.

    They weren’t scratched as they rubbed right off with a cloth.

    Yeah…I need to vacuum out my unit. (thats what she said..har har)

    @everyone
    with bluray you can leave fairly large scratches with a knife and the disc usually will still play.
    off topic- has anyone tried microwaving a bluray disc.

    I felt like doing that to Taladega Nights. Then it grew on me

    I seen a video of someone scratch it up with steel wool and put it in a player and it still played.

    "Dr. McCoy is correct on one point however, these are humans, and yet it appears they are living in the early 21st century, unable to grasp the limitless nature of the island."

    "But Spock, the time distortion on the Enterprise, our own devices reading-"

    "All wrong, I can find no logic in the time-warping, like the lack of logic in the coordinates, the Enterprise cannot find us both in time and in space. Yet we find ourselves on solid ground, in clear position to a clearly setting sun."

    "Well Spock, what does it mean?"

    "Captain, for some reason, the intelligent cloud that we met initially, has shown us this location from its past. We have agreed the cloud is a Deity-like intelligence, I propose that it has been driven from its nest, its safety, by humans. Clearly it creates an endless game with them in revenge, turning their sociopathic needs into desires. We must drive it back inside, otherwise we will never stop the island's movement, it will never release its prisoners, and we will never reach the 23rd century or the Enterprise."

    Warner Bros. now has a second Matrix prequel under its belt. Notice the synthetic cityscapes and their simula that resemble the brain, the well-dressed and their gunplay (and gun jokes), water metaphors, squared modernist production design, goons on rooftops.  Toying with dream architecture, Nolan has built an entrance, a software component to link the slumbering into temporary LANs (local area network), that might one day be the logic for Skynet's human enslavement hinted at in McG's Terminator Salvation, which ultimately heads in the direction of WB's seminal myth of 1999. Is Warner Bros. aware of these overlaps from a branding point of view? Next: WB does a big budget remake of Videodrome...

    The repetetition in engines, the upgrading of tentpoles that have long since peaked, the lack of new IP and new game design, the continuous flooding of tie-in games that sell 30% of the potential market. The lack of cohesion in platforms. The lack of portals and doorways among titles.
